D.A.R.C. sting

D.A.R.C. stands for Divine Aromatic Roasted Cocoa, 72% single origin chocolate gold. With a touch of monk work and a pinch of angelic patience, The Chocolate Explorers breathed life into me. Put on a holy-moly good record, sink down in your favorite chair, close your eyes, take a bite and surrender to this heavenly pleasure. For the unbelieving types among you, I make a quick prayer, but they will find me just as divinely delicious.

Where did I come from?

My cocoa beans were obtained Direct Trade from Cacao Bisiesto: an organization run by Giff Laube and Jose Enrique Herrera. Giff and Jose are totally Mesjokke from cocoa. They buy fresh cacao from small farmers in the region and then skillfully ferment and dry it. Giff likes funky jazz music, while Jose Enrique goes more Mesjokke on the exotic sounds of Santana. At Utrecht’s Mesjokke chocolate factory, I was then -from bean-to-bar-expertly roasted, skinned, ground and tempered.
